A Dane living in The Netherlands

Happy birthday to me. Happy birthday to me. Happy birthday to meeeeeeeeee. Happy birthday to me!
My grandmother called, which is quite something. She's over 80 and can't speak anything but Danish. She has never been outside Denmark either, so I greatful respect the effort she put into calling me.
That was definately the call of the day.

With contributions from family and bfriend I bought myself the camera I wanted for my birthday: Canons IXUS 500...and I love it! We've been taking pictures of almost anthing, so I have tons of material to make a photoblog...which I won't...yet...hehe.
The extra video feature is so cool, and we've been recording eachother, the kitties, the moon...anything! It also meant I had to find a program that can rotate an avi-film, since I like to use the camera on both sides...(stupid me! Hahaha...)
Even though it's still pretty expensive (€600 incl. extra 256M memory and battery) it is worth it - the colors are accurate and it takes very sharp pictures - also under conditions where an analogue camera requires a flash. Definately the buy of the week (and it will quite a while before I buy an item that expensive again!!).
(By the way - can anyone tell me why it's called IXUS 500 in Europe but Powershot S500 in the US?)

Advice to cat owners: If you have cats with white paws, DO NOT buy colored kitty litter. Dian and Mollie now both have peach colored paws!
