A Dane living in The Netherlands

Saturday was a long day for my feet; we went to the annual 5 hours Straatfestival in Leeuwarden. (Richard can be seen on the 6th picture behind the bird)
Among many cool acts there were: Rose, Lejo, Mr. Jones and Fred the amazing stunt pig, Stenzel & Kivits, Les Sages Fous,

Many acts were both beautiful and involved some deep thougths, but none were really dangerously provocative or mindtwisting challenging - a shame. But all in all it was a fine opportunity for the frisian families to be together...:-)
I think the arrangers must be puppets-o-philics, since almost all acts involved puppets...otherwise it's simply a trend in street-theatre today...

The new camera came to good use, and I'll upload some pics, as soon as they come back from the photo-shop

We dined at a restaurant, we haven't been at before - the Restaurant Piet Paaltjens. I had oysters and duck, while Richard had the groententartaar and runderlende (Beef from the back of the cow). Together with a bottle of wine, a Muscat and desserts (Dessert Piet Paaltjens - a mix of it all) we only payed around 70€, so we're definately comming back to this place, that seems like the last non-chain restaurant in Leeuwarden.

Together with Chef from South Park (we won at the fair) we headed home - tired and only in the mood for a final game of Atomic Bomberman before nighttime...

For those who might be interested, here's a (very) short history of Leeuwarden
