Step no. 1 Aaawwww...working out what you want to do with your life can be SO hard! I'm about to move to The Netherlands to live with Richard, and then I would like to find a ph.d. position there. I thought... Then I started to think about the amount of time and effort I need to put into a project like that - I mean, I have been studying at three faculties at two universities since 1991, where I got accepted at Biochemistry at Copenhagen University (I have a Bachelor degree in Art History from Cph. Uni. and a Master degree in Information Technology from IT Uni., Cph.). I have been thinking what to do for several months now and have several options. But everything is also depending on Richard and his job opportunities. In order for me to pursue the idea of getting a ph.d. position we need to move, since there are no universities in Friesland. But then Richard have to change job too, and in The Netherlands you are often subjected to a test period of one or two months where you can get sacked or you can quit from one day to the other. Since we also want to buy an apartment and therefore need to take a loan in the bank, we are very dependent of an income. So...everything simply have to fall in place at the same time. *sigh* But I think that I for a while would like to get an "ordinary" job, where I can go home at 17.00 and simple BE OFF! That is something I haven't tried since 1990 where I worked full time for 16 months until I started at the university. What to do? What to do? I don't know and it tears me apart some days. I HATE not knowing what I am doing and where I am in a month or two! But maybe I should take one step of a time - moving would then be step no. one. *** - | posted by Tommy on 5:06 PM ---ooo--- |
