Tempus Tommy

A Dane living in The Netherlands

Thursday, June 17, 2004

Some time ago Frank blogged about the unfortunate naming of Googles online friend network called "Orkut". Well, if you have played "Age of Mythology" you will hear some of the Norse units say something like "skii-pann". This sounds so much like a foreigner trying to say "damned fryingpan" (skidepande) in Danish, that I'm giggling every time I have to play the Norse. Richard told me that the greek gatherers actually say "no" in Dutch, when you want them to do something....well, they might be stubborn, but at least they do what you want them to do anyway!
